Founded by former NHL player Jason Jaffray, Edge Hockey Schools runs week-long, full-day camps for players aged 6 to 14 at multiple locations across Alberta, including the Calgary area. Each day combines 2.25 hours of on-ice training with off-ice conditioning, swimming, and hockey seminars — structured to develop both on-ice skills and overall athleticism.
Coaches group players by skill level, with instruction concentrating on skating technique, stickhandling and puck control, and read-and-react decision-making. The full-day format and multi-activity structure distinguish it from shorter drop-in style programmes.

“We are so grateful for our young son’s experience with Edge Hockey School this summer! He is now in his second year of U7 and the growth in his abilities that stemmed from the Edge camp are immeasurable for us. Last year he couldn’t stick handle, skate backwards or stop very well. Now he can do all of those things and more. He also is truly enjoying being on the ice more than he did last year. Within the 5 days of Edge Camp he improved immensely and we really appreciated the way Edge measured each players growth within the week by starting with skills and then re-evaluating them at the end of the week with numbers to show the progress! Our kiddo is now in love with stick handling and credits it all to his experience with the Edge team. Today he scored the first goal in his game and then spent much of the rest of the game focussing on practicing techniques he learned from the Edge team, including passing to teammates. If there is a lag in activities during practice or games, he uses the chance to practice skating techniques. It was really fantastic to see and even better when he came off the ice and said he had so much fun. Edge made the the entire 5 days so valuable and I even had the opportunity to over hear some of the older kid’s classroom “Hockey Talk” time and the content was so positive and really geared around life skills as well.
