Matsqui Blades Speed Skate Club

Founded in 1974, the Matsqui Blades Speed Skating Association has offered short track and long track speed skating in Abbotsford and the Fraser Valley for over 50 years. The club serves athletes of all ages, from those trying the sport for the first time through to competitive skaters who advance to regional, provincial, and national competitions.

Regular on-ice practices run Monday and Wednesday evenings at the Abbotsford Recreation Centre from September through March. A dryland off-ice programme continues through spring and summer, keeping members active year-round. Entry-level options include a Try Speed Skating programme and a Skate for All stream for recreational participants.
