Quick facts
About Karen's Hockey School
Founded by Karen Whiton in 2006, this Port Moody–based school uses a Technique-Speed-Power (T-S-P) model to address technical skating issues and build on-ice skills. Programmes cover powerskating and edge control, shooting mechanics, puck control, and hockey IQ development through game-situation work. Sessions run in Port Moody, Coquitlam, and Port Coquitlam, with formats including small group clinics, private lessons, spring and summer development camps, and in-house skills training with the TC Predators.
Whiton works with grassroots and female players from age 3 through 21, with particular attention to correcting foundational technique before layering speed and power. Reviewers consistently highlight her patience and ability to make sessions engaging for younger skaters.
