“Team Review: Ring U18 Winnipeg<br>Based on our experience, we would like to share several observations. While the program presents strong development goals on paper, their execution in practice raises serious concerns.<br>One of the key issues is the distribution of ice time. It is clearly uneven: some players are given significantly more opportunities, while others receive very limited chances to prove themselves. This directly impacts both individual development and overall team performance.<br>It is also important to note that the coach is very reluctant to engage in discussions about playing time. When asked why a player is not given more opportunities, the responses tend to be vague and lack substance. This makes it difficult to understand the decision-making criteria and prevents players from working on specific areas for improvement.<br>Overall, there appears to be a lack of transparency in the player development process and evaluation system. Team play also suffers, as games often reflect individual efforts rather than structured, tactical play.<br>Considering the high cost of participation, expectations are significantly higher than what is being delivered in reality.<br>We do not recommend this team to those who plan to fully self-fund their participation. We especially do not recommend it to international families.”

“My son has been receiving goalie coaching and attending R1 Goalie training with Dan for several years. I cannot say enough about the coaching staff and their level of professionalism balanced with approachability. Dan’s coaching style embodies the athlete as a whole; discussing mindset as much as building the physical foundation for the athlete to be the very best they can be. They deliver on all fronts. I wish the organization continued success along with the players who show up and do the work!”

“My 8 year old has been attending training programs here for a little over a year now. We've had nothing but great experiences with both the coaches and front desk staff. The coaches run a little bit more of a disciplined practice compared to other facilities which seem to get the best out of the kids. My son is incredibly passionate about hockey and they've only strengthened his desire to be the best he can be. Attending camps or weekly programs here is easily his favourite thing to do.”

“The class ratio is fantastic for the learn to skate programs. My son is 8 years old and the staff were very accommodating to his learning needs. I highly recommend The Rink. You will have a great experience. The instructors are well experienced and the facility is state of the art.<br>Thank you to the staff for accommodating our son.
