Thunder Bay Skating Academy

Founded in 2017, Thunder Bay Skating Academy is a Skate Canada–sanctioned non-profit delivering structured skating programmes at five Thunder Bay arenas: Current River, Delaney, Fort William Gardens, Grandview, and Neebing. Nationally certified coaches run sessions spanning Parent & Tot, Pre-CanSkate, CanSkate, Rising Stars, Hockey Fundamentals, Star 1–5, Adult Skate, and a Spring into Star Excellence Camp.

Programming is designed for skaters of all levels, from toddlers in Parent & Tot through to adults, with particular depth in the U7-and-under and U8–U13 age ranges. The academy holds Skate Ontario's CanSkate Excellence Recognition — Exceeded Standard designation, reflecting the national framework underpinning its coaching and curriculum.
